Who we are. Stop The Data Centre and Data Centre Watch are run by Data Centre Watch, an unincorporated association ("we"), which is the data controller for information collected through these sites. Contact: hello@datacentrewatch.uk.

What we collect. When you sign a petition or ask for updates: your first name, email address and postcode, the page you signed on, and whether you ticked the box to let local campaigners contact you.

Why. To count your support for the petition, to email you about this campaign and related campaigns near you, and to understand which areas care about which schemes. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us.

Sharing with local campaigners. Only if you tick the box, we'll pass your name, email and postcode to the local group campaigning on that specific site. They'll be responsible for how they use it from then on.

Presenting petitions. When we hand a petition to a council or minister we may include signers' names and the first part of their postcode, never email addresses.

Who processes it for us. Our petitions and email run on Action Network, which stores the data on our behalf. Postcode searches on the campaign map use postcodes.io and aren't stored by us.

How long. Until you unsubscribe, or for two years after you last took action, whichever is sooner.

Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Draft prepared for the prototype. Needs checking before the sites go public.
