Keep Southfleet's fields free of a 300MW data centre
A 300MW AI data centre campus is planned on about 59 hectares of farmland off New Barn Road, between Southfleet and Northfleet. In July 2026 ministers took the decision away from Dartford Borough Council. The council leader and the local MP both oppose it.

To The Housing Secretary and the developer, Clearstone: Southfleet's farmland is no place for a 300MW AI data centre. Drop the New Barn Road plans, and listen to the people who live here and the council that represents them.

How to be heard in a national decision
This will be decided by ministers through the national planning system. The developer has to consult before applying, and once an application is accepted you can register to take part in the examination.
- Good planning grounds include: impact on the Green Belt or countryside, energy use and carbon, water supply, noise, traffic, wildlife and heritage. Developers' promises are not guarantees: ask for them to be made binding.
Respond to the developer's consultation when it opens (contact given by developer: info@clearstoneenergy.com); later, register as an interested party once a DCO application is accepted by the Planning Inspectorate
